Fintech apps

Finance apps that keep transaction data on the phone.

Expense, budgeting and personal finance apps that read transactions on the device, so financial data never reaches a server.

Sound familiar?

  • Users stop logging expenses after two weeks.
  • Bank-login aggregators scare users off.
  • Play review flags your SMS or notification permission.

On the device

Transaction notifications are parsed and categorised on the phone. No statement upload, no bank login, no account required.

Through review

Play Store declarations for notification and SMS access, written against what the app actually does, and the review responses handled.

In their language

Amounts, dates and categories in the formats people already read. IntelliSpend ships in English, Gujarati, Hindi and Odia.

Questions we get about this.

Yes. IntelliSpend reads the transaction notifications that banks and UPI apps already send, on the device. Nothing is typed in and nothing is uploaded. Whether the approach suits your product depends on the markets you sell in, and we will say so on the scoping call.

Google restricts SMS access to a short list of uses and reviews notification access closely. We design the feature around the permission that fits, write the declarations against what the app actually does, and handle the review responses. Nobody can guarantee approval, because Google decides it.

It helps, because data you never collect is data you never have to protect, but it is not compliance on its own. Consent, notices and retention still need a plan, and a lawyer should sign it off. We build the product side of that plan.
